Current events in our country leave an impression on each of us. However, children suffer the most in such conditions. They cannot independently cope with problems, adapt to new living conditions and become socially hardened. That is why we find various ways to combat the negative consequences of war and create possible conditions for social and psychological adaptation of displaced children. An important stage on this path is the formation of the volunteer headquarters. Volunteers are people who, on a voluntary basis, perform a variety of work aimed at helping and supporting those in need. The main characteristics on which volunteerism is based are voluntariness, public benefit, efficiency and creativity.
Volunteering shows society new values: the desire for the common good, which is born from the desire to help others. Volunteer activity strives to understand all the complexity of problems, to notice new urgent needs along with the usual ones.
Every year, more than 100 million people join volunteer activities in more than 50 different directions and areas of volunteering. However, the events of recent years have proven to us that one of the most vulnerable groups of the population are children who, due to modern conditions (change of place of residence and educational staff, deterioration of psychological and physical health, etc.) need significant help and support.
In Ukraine, the volunteer movement began to develop in the mid-90s of the 20th century. Among the normative acts that regulate volunteer activities in Ukraine, the following stand out:
The Law of Ukraine “On Volunteering” is the main document that regulates relations related to the provision of volunteer assistance. The law defines who can provide volunteer assistance, in which directions and under what conditions.
The Law of Ukraine “On Charitable Activities and Charitable Organizations” is the main document that regulates relations in the field of charity. In particular, the Law defines the concept of charitable activity, charitable organization, and also identifies fifteen areas of charity and the conditions for collecting charitable donations.

Support is needed
Measures to support and help vulnerable population groups should not be uniform, but differ in content. During such activities, it is necessary to give children the opportunity to show themselves and show initiative. Children’s participation in such activities must be coordinated with the teaching staff. Work should be as safe as possible for children’s psyche and contribute to their social and psychological adaptation. Means of encouraging children should be clearly defined. The results of the work must be presented to the student, pedagogical, and parental (if necessary) team.
Conduct individual conversations, classes aimed at solving problems and building stress resistance. Discuss problems with parents. Involve migrant children in classes on the development of critical thinking. Gradually involve such children in work during their studies, so that adaptation to the team and new living conditions takes place. Do not focus on the events that took place in the region where the child came from. To create a favorable social and psychological climate in the educational institution. Involvement of children of this category in educational and developmental activities outside of school hours. Create conditions for self-realization of migrant children.
