Webinar “The role of volunteering in the social and psychological adaptation of IDP children”

On February 23, at the faculty of physical culture and human health of the Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University, a webinar “The role of volunteering in the social and psychological adaptation of IDP children” was held for students of the specialty “Secondary education. Physical culture”, and teachers of the department “Physical culture and the basics of health”.

The event was held on the initiative of the Public Organization YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. THE HEALTH MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE, the Association of Graduates of the Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University, the administration of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Human Health.

The purpose of the webinar is to highlight the main aspects of volunteer training, the formation of successful physical education teachers who will use the acquired knowledge in their professions.

At the beginning of the event, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Basics of Health, Chairman of the ChNU Alumni Association Yury Moseichuk gave a welcome speech, who expressed his opinion on the importance of self-improvement on the way to professional success, noted that every future physical education teacher culture should develop, acquire new knowledge relevant for today, learn to diversify the educational process and keep up with the times.

During the webinar, candidate of sciences in physical education and sports, associate professor, head of the public organization YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTH MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE Yaroslav Galan reported on the mentioned topic. During the report, he talked about his own professional activity, introduced the students to the events held for children, told about the importance of volunteering for the chosen profession and obtaining positive results, characterized the importance of such events in the educational process.

The winner and second prize-winner of the “Teacher of the Year 2023” contest in the “Physical Culture” category also took part in the webinar. Mykola Niga, a physical culture teacher at secondary school No. 25, introduced the webinar participants to his own path to becoming a professional physical culture teacher, drew attention to the importance of participation in various competitions and events that allow to increase the teacher’s competence.

Volodymyr Popov, a physical education teacher at Lyceum No. 16, focused his attention on the theory and methodology of physical education, which is fundamental in the activity of a physical education teacher. He also talked about various types of sports and ways to improve them during educational activities.

All webinar participants improved their knowledge, learned new interesting information and received comprehensive answers to questions.

The webinar was held within the framework of the project “Social and psychological adaptation of forcibly displaced persons (children) to the educational process”, carried out by the Carpathian Foundation with the financial support of COFRA.
