December 4, 2025, Olga Beshley, social manager of the NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE,“ presented the results of her work in the section ”Problems and prospects for the development of the system of health and recreational physical activity of the population,” sharing research within the framework of the Nudging2Move project, which is co-financed by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program.
The Nudging2Move project brings together partners from Greece, Turkey, Italy, Portugal, and Ukraine: universities, sports organizations, communities, and non-governmental organizations. Ukraine is represented in the consortium by the NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT IN UKRAINE.”

Soft behavioral nudges can motivate people to move more: walk, cycle, and choose sustainable transport in their daily lives. These are simple changes in the environment that subtly encourage healthier choices.
Why it matters
According to the WHO, more than 25% of adults and 80% of adolescents worldwide do not meet the recommended level of physical activity. This directly affects health and quality of life.
What has been done
A survey of different age groups was conducted on their mobility habits.
Preliminary conclusions have been drawn regarding barriers to walking and cycling.
Further steps were agreed upon at a partner meeting in Italy.
Next steps
Analysis of collected data
Local workshops
Development of two nudges from each partner for pilot testing.
