Participation in the conference “The Olympic Movement in Ukraine: Past and Present”

On February 6, within the framework of the conference “The Olympic Movement in Ukraine: Past and Present”, a discussion round table was held in a hybrid format at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University.

Representatives of the NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE” took part in the professional discussion and presented a report entitled: “THE PROGRAM-BASED APPROACH OF A NGO TO THE INTEGRATION OF NATIONAL AND EUROPEAN VALUES THROUGH SPORTS AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES” 🇺🇦🇪🇺

The presentation emphasized that the relevance of the research is driven by a significant increase in the need for social adaptation and psychosocial support for children and youth in Ukraine under current challenges and threats.

The aim of the study was to generalize the program-based approach of a public organization to the implementation of sports and educational activities for children and young people, particularly vulnerable groups, and to analyze their content focus and key outcomes.

The speakers presented a structural and functional model of the program-based approach in working with children and youth, as well as highlighted activities promoting national and European values implemented during 2022–2025.

The report was delivered by Liliana Hutsuliak and Anastasiia Komerzan. Upon completion of the event, the participants received certificates.

A symbolic element of the event was the raising of the Ukrainian flag ahead of the Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy).

We sincerely thank the organizers of the event and especially Associate Professor Andrii Ohnystyi for the invitation, excellent organization, and meaningful professional discussion.

During the round table, active discussions also took place on current issues in the development of Olympic sports in Ukraine, as well as on the current state and future prospects of the physical culture and sports system as a whole, highlighting the importance of such academic and practical meetings.
