Seminar for teachers held in Novoselytska hromada
On May 24, 2024, in the city of Novoselytsia, at the Novoselytsia Lyceum No. 1 of the Novoselytsia City Council of the Chernivtsi District, Chernivtsi Region, a seminar was held on the topic: “Development of social and psychological strategies for the adaptation and integration of displaced children in host communities.”




The seminar began with a speech by the head of the NGO YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor Yaroslav Galan, who presented the organization’s activities and focused on activities for IDP children living in the community and the importance of their integration.


Yuriy Kurnyshev, PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Culture and Health Fundamentals at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, also delivered a welcoming speech and emphasized the importance of using physical activity in the educational process of modern schoolchildren.
Yaroslav Halan presented the organization’s gratitude to Adelina Rusnak, Head of the Education Department of the Novoselytsia City Council, and the lyceum’s director.


The second part of the seminar was held in the gymnasium of the institution, which began with a physical activity where physical education teachers actively participated. The next part was a master class on badminton and its forms in working with children from different regions of Ukraine who now live in the community.


Volunteer leaders also took an active part in the event, sharing their experience and inspiring the participants with their active social position.
The event ended with a performance by Maria Ignatova, a student of the Department of Physical Education and Health Fundamentals, Master of Sports in Rhythmic Gymnastics. The physical education teachers gained useful skills and knowledge during the seminar, as well as certificates of participation and gifts.


The event was organized with the support of the Education Department of Novoselytsia City Council, Mykhailo Ratsa, director of the Novoselytsia Children’s and Youth Sports School, and Oleh Petrov, director of the lyceum.


Such events are extremely important in today’s environment, as they facilitate the integration of displaced children and support them on their way to adaptation in new communities.
The event was held within the framework of the project “Development of social and psychological strategies for the adaptation and integration of displaced children in host communities”, implemented by the Carpathian Foundation with the financial support of COFRA.
