Seminar “Development of Social and psychological strategies for adaptation and integration of children in host communities” held in Chernivtsi”

On 19 March, Chernivtsi hosted a workshop aimed at creating new conditions for displaced children entitled “Development of social and psychological strategies for the adaptation and integration of children in host communities.”

The main goal of this workshop was to find effective ways to better adapt and fully integrate displaced children into new communities.

The workshop was organized by the NGO YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT of Ukraine in cooperation with the Department of Education of the Chernivtsi City Council.

The event brought together highly qualified teachers, scientists, and specialists who shared their vision and best practices in the field of social adaptation and integration.

Yaroslav Galan, Head of the NGO, Ph.D. in Physical Education and Sports, emphasized the importance of developing social and psychological strategies for the adaptation and integration of children in host communities. He also spoke about a number of successful initiatives and projects implemented by the organization aimed at supporting children and youth and promoting their development.

At the beginning of the seminar, Liubov Havrylova, Head of the Preschool Education Department of the Education Department of the Chernivtsi City Council, shared the experience of fruitful cooperation between the department and the organization. She noted that the cooperation has enabled the implementation of a number of joint initiatives aimed at supporting and developing preschool children and teachers of preschool education institutions in Chernivtsi.

Inna Kotsyuban, head of the preschool educational institution №35 “Vesnianka,” emphasized the importance of such events for the professional development of young professionals in the field of preschool education. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to exchange experience with highly qualified teachers and scientists, which allows educators to enrich their professional baggage with the latest methods and approaches. According to her, this not only contributes to improving the quality of preschool education in the city but also stimulates the personal development of children, making the learning process more interesting and effective.

Svitlana Duditska, a board member of the organization with a Ph.D. in physical education and sports, focused on the use of health-saving technologies in preschool educational institutions. She presented a number of innovative methods and outdoor games aimed at supporting the physical and psychological health of children and held a masterclass for preschool teachers, demonstrating the practical application of these technologies.

Bohdana Ogonyuk, a psychologist at kindergarten No. 35, conducted a psychological training session for the workshop participants, focusing on methods of psychological support and adaptation for displaced children. Her session included training in effective communication skills, stress reduction, and emotional intelligence, which is critical for the successful integration of children into a new social environment.

The students of the Physical Culture and Sports specialty of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University impressed the participants of the seminar with their skillful taekwondo demonstrations.

The seminar participants had a unique opportunity not only to gain valuable knowledge but also to receive certificates of participation, which symbolize their commitment to professional development and readiness to implement new practices in their communities and educational institutions.

The event provided a platform for the exchange of experiences and ideas, allowing each participant to contribute to the well-being of displaced children and provide them with tools to strengthen their future.
