A beach volleyball workshop for schoolchildren was held in Chernivtsi
June 18, 2026, a beach volleyball workshop was held in Chernivtsi for young volleyball players.
The purpose of the event was to enhance the capacity to organize high-quality sports and health events, promote physical education and sports, foster an interest in an active lifestyle, and develop beach volleyball among schoolchildren. The event began with opening remarks by the head of the public organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor Yaroslav Galan. In his speech, he noted that holding such events is important for young athletes, as they provide an opportunity to learn about new methods of training and instruction, improve their own skills, and interact with renowned athletes who serve as examples of perseverance, professionalism, and a love for sports.


Andriy Moldovan, a volleyball coach and instructor at Chernivtsi Municipal Children’s and Youth Sports School No. 4, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, and associate professor, thanked the organizers, participants, and guests of honor and emphasized the importance of incorporating modern approaches and new techniques into the training process for young athletes. He emphasized that such master classes help increase children’s motivation to play volleyball and create conditions for their athletic development.


The event’s program included warm-up exercises with volleyball elements, sports relays, team challenges, and a practical master class on beach volleyball techniques. The master class was led by the event’s guests of honor – talented beach volleyball players: Sofia Shchutska, Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine, and Kateryna Bilyak, Master of Sports of Ukraine in beach volleyball.


The athletes demonstrated the basic technical elements of beach volleyball, shared their own experiences, and provided the young participants with practical advice on improving their athletic skills. Their example served as additional motivation for the children to engage in regular training, pursue self-improvement, and achieve athletic success.


All participants in the event received commemorative medals and gifts. Additionally, Andriy Moldovan and Tetyana Rotar, a Master of Sports of Ukraine in volleyball, were honored with commemorative awards from the public organization for their significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports, their support of youth sports, and the promotion of an active lifestyle.


Holding such events helps improve the health of children and youth, increase physical activity levels, foster team spirit, promote sports, and encourage schoolchildren to engage in regular physical education.
