EcoAdventures for Preschoolers, an environmental event dedicated to Environment Day and Earth Day, was held in Chernivtsi

On April 23, 2025, the Eco-Adventures for Preschoolers, a combined-type preschool education institution (nursery-kindergarten) No. 11 “Horobynka” of the Chernivtsi City Council, hosted an environmental event dedicated to the Environment Day and Earth Day.

The event was held within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Department of Education of the Chernivtsi City Council.

The goal of the event is to form primary environmental awareness and a careful attitude toward nature among senior preschool children by familiarizing them with the rules of waste sorting, participating in tree planting, and engaging them in physical activity.

The grand opening began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and demonstrations by young taekwondoists under the guidance of Vitaliy Kalynychenko, a student majoring in Physical Culture and Sports at the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Rehabilitation of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.

Yaroslav Galan, head of the public organization YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor, emphasized the importance of forming environmental awareness from an early age and promoting physical activity among children.

Tetyana Rusnak, director of the institution, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in today’s environment, noting that such events help to form environmental awareness and a responsible attitude to the environment from an early age.

Svitlana Duditska, a member of the organization’s board, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, and associate professor, together with Yaroslav Galan, presented the organization’s gratitude to the director of the institution for active cooperation and promotion of important environmental initiatives.

An interactive presentation on waste sorting was held under the guidance of teacher Maryna Zharykova, during which children learned to distinguish between types of waste and practiced sorting. A highlight was a dance performance by preschoolers, which added positive emotions.

The event culminated in the planting of evergreen thuja trees, which both children and parents actively participated in. Young participants enjoyed using children’s spatulas and watering cans, learning through play and practice.

The event also involved children from privileged categories, for whom such events are especially important in terms of creating a positive emotional experience, engaging in joint actions, and forming environmental awareness.

At the end of the event, all participants received commemorative medals and gifts from the NGO.
