An event for children with special educational needs was held in Chernivtsi at the Rodina educational and rehabilitation center
On March 17, a wonderful event for children with special educational needs was held at the Rodina Educational and Rehabilitation Center.
The event began solemnly with the National Anthem of Ukraine, and all participants proudly joined in its performance. This was a symbolic moment that emphasized the unity and patriotic spirit of the event.
The main goal of the event was to promote communication, increase physical activity, popularize a healthy lifestyle, strengthen national and European values, and help children adapt socially and psychologically to modern conditions.
Yaroslav Galan, the head of the NGO, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor, noted that physical activity, healthy lifestyle, and patriotic education are extremely important in today’s environment. He also emphasized the need for psychological support and social adaptation of children with special educational needs.
The program of the event was rich and interesting: children created drawings and talked about them, sharing their thoughts and feelings. We listened carefully to their stories and discussed who they depicted in their drawings, and thus, there was lively cooperation and mutual understanding.
Svitlana Duditska, a board member of the organization, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, and associate professor, joined the creation of the painting together with children with special educational needs, helping them express their emotions and dreams through art.
Under the leadership of Olena Gauriak, a teacher of physical education, PhD in Pedagogy, associate professor, a patriotic exercise was held, in which all the children took part with enthusiasm.
The participants of the event presented their drawings on educational and patriotic topics, talked about them, and shared their dreams. After that, they all worked together to create a large picture of their own handprints. It was not only exciting but also symbolic – everyone contributed to the common cause.
There was also a psychological training aimed at emotional support for children, conducted by Iryna Mysliuk, a psychologist at the center.
The event was held with the assistance and support of Tatiana Cherlenyuk, Deputy Director for Educational Work.
An unforgettable moment was the performance of the signed song “Forever from Ukraine.” The children enthusiastically conveyed the meaning of the song in sign language, and all the participants of the event joined this touching performance under the guidance of Jean Tarnavsky, the head of the “Sign Song“ group.
Students of the Department of Therapy, Rehabilitation and Health Saving Technologies at Chernivtsi National University also took an active part in the event. They actively contributed to the organization and holding of the event, acting as volunteers, helping children and creating a warm, friendly atmosphere.
The event was also held within the framework of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University research project “ACTIVE NATION: A MODERN MODEL FOR INCREASING THE LEVEL OF MOTOR ACTIVITY OF SCHOOLCHILDREN AS A STRATEGIC ELEMENT OF THE STATE’S DEFENSE,“ which promotes the development of an inclusive society and the involvement of children in sports and creativity.
At the end of the event, each participant was presented with commemorative medals as a memento of this day filled with kindness, support, and sincere emotions.
We thank everyone who participated and made this day special!
