Training for teachers and coaches as part of the BASKETBALL-KTN project

On October 3, an online training session was held for educators, physical education teachers, future teachers, and coaches as part of the European Union’s ERASMUS-SPORT project.

The NGO YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE, together with its partners, is implementing the European Union’s ERASMUS-SPORT project entitled Delivering a hybrid knowledge transfer network model for basketball engagement and development / BASKETBALL-KTN.

As part of this project, training was held for educators, physical education teachers, future teachers, and coaches.

During the event, participants discussed modern approaches to the development of basketball, exchanged experiences, and learned about innovative tools for training athletes.

Project coordinator Giannis Tsiaras (EVNIKOS SPORTS CLUB, Greece) presented the project’s goals and objectives and introduced an online platform that will serve as the basis for creating a hybrid model of learning and knowledge exchange.

The project coordinator in Ukraine, head of a public organization, candidate of sciences in physical education and sports, associate professor Yaroslav Galan emphasized the importance of introducing modern European trends into the training process and professional training of coaches.

The guest of honor at the training was Oleksandr Tomenko, Doctor of Science in Physical Education and Sports, professor at the A. S. Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical University, who shared his own experience and gave practical examples of integrating innovations into sports education.

Participants received certificates and had the opportunity to register on the BASKETBALL-KTN platform, which aims to promote basketball, popularize a healthy lifestyle, and strengthen international cooperation in the field of sports.
