Sports and educational event in the Oikos camp dedicated to the Day of Ukrainian Statehood

On July 15, 2024, a sports and educational event for privileged schoolchildren on the occasion of the Day of Ukrainian Statehood was held at the Oikos tent city summer camp of the Chernivtsi City Council.

The goal of the event was to increase physical activity, reduce stress through physical activity and introduce different sports.

The event began with a solemn opening ceremony where schoolchildren sang the National Anthem of Ukraine. Then the program of the sports and educational event was announced, which included various activities aimed at increasing physical activity and introducing different sports.

Chairman of the public organization YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor Yaroslav Halan, emphasized the importance of physical activity and encouragement to play sports as a factor of health improvement.

Camp director Nikita Borovik welcomed the participants and wished them a good mood during all the activities of the event.

The schoolchildren took part in a morning exercise session led by Anna Shtefanovych, a student majoring in Physical Culture and Sports at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. Under her guidance, the children energized themselves for the whole day by performing exercises that help improve coordination, flexibility and overall physical fitness.

Under the guidance of master of sports in orienteering Andrey Slobozhaninov, the children learned basic orienteering skills and tried their hand at this sport. A badminton master class was also held, where students tried basic exercises and played this wonderful sport.

Olena Platonova, a psychologist of the highest category, emphasized that physical activity is one of the elements of stress relief and improvement of schoolchildren’s well-being in modern conditions.

At the end of the event, all participants received memorable gifts and medals certifying their participation in the sports and educational event.
