Online working meeting of the Shared Memories project partners

On May 19, 2026, the partners held their regular online working meeting as part of the project “Shared Memories: Learning from the Past to Build Europe’s Future“, which is co-funded by the European Union.

The project aims to preserve historical memory, promote intergenerational learning, and encourage civic engagement. Its activities focus on collecting and documenting testimonies from older adults, assessing young people’s historical awareness, developing intergenerational game-based workshops, creating open-access educational resources, and strengthening European values and democratic education.

During the meeting, the partners discussed the current status of the preparation of materials within Work Package WP2 “Testimonies”, specifically the methodological guide, interview questions, and materials related to the collection of testimonies. Particular attention was paid to updating the relevant sections of the project repository and planning the next stages of its implementation.

Representatives of the non-governmental organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE” informed the partners about the progress of interviews and surveys of young people as part of the historical awareness questionnaire, as well as about the organization’s planned activities for the project’s further implementation.

An important component of the project is engaging young people in reflecting on historical events through dialogue with representatives of the older generation. This approach contributes not only to the preservation of personal and collective memories but also to fostering a responsible attitude among young people toward historical heritage, European values, democracy, and active citizenship.

The meeting served as an important step in strengthening cooperation among partners, coordinating further actions, and ensuring the high-quality implementation of the project’s next phases.
