A webinar on supporting vulnerable groups of children brought together educators in Chernivtsi
April 9, 2026, the City Palace of Children and Youth hosted a webinar for educators at extracurricular education institutions in the city of Chernivtsi on the topic “Integrating Social, Educational, and Sports Activities into Work with Vulnerable Groups of Children”.

The event began with opening remarks by Nadia Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Education Department of the Chernivtsi City Council, who emphasized the importance of the webinar’s topic, the significance of physical activity, a healthy lifestyle, and psychological support for children, as well as the promotion of national values and patriotic education in today’s context.
The participants were also addressed by the head of the public organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor Iaroslav Galan. In his speech, he focused on initiatives implemented for children and schoolchildren (from vulnerable groups), emphasizing their innovative nature, social significance, and role in shaping a healthy nation.

As part of the webinar, students from Yuri Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University majoring in “Practical Psychology” – Viktoria Goncharyuk, Vladyslava Isopescu, and Yelizaveta Sorokina – gave presentations. In their presentations, they highlighted the potential for applying modern information technologies in conducting educational and social events, particularly for organizing surveys among target groups – schoolchildren, parents, and educators. Special attention was paid to the role of psychological support for the younger generation in today’s context.

During the webinar, participants discussed modern approaches to working with vulnerable groups of children, effective mechanisms for combining social-educational and sports initiatives, as well as opportunities for the practical application of an interdisciplinary approach in the work of educators.

The event was held jointly with the Department of Education of the Chernivtsi City Council and the NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE” within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation.
We express our sincere gratitude to the Acting Director of the City Palace of Children and Youth, Marina Slyzhuk-Denisenko, for her cooperation and assistance in organizing and conducting this webinar.
