Online meeting for students of Ternopil National Pedagogical University as part of the Basketball-KTN project
On October 8, an online meeting was held for students of the Faculty of Physical Education of the Volodymyr Hnatyuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University as part of the European Union’s ERASMUS-SPORT project “Delivering a hybrid knowledge transfer network model for basketball engagement and development / BASKETBALL-KTN” co-financed by the European Union.


The event began with a welcome speech by the dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Viktor Shandrygos, who emphasized the importance of student participation in informal education activities and their significance for the professional development of future specialists in the field of physical education and sports. The dean also stressed the relevance of promoting basketball among students as a modern tool for developing team spirit, leadership qualities, and a healthy lifestyle.
During the meeting, the head of the public organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, candidate of sciences in physical education and sports, associate professor Yaroslav Galan presented the main provisions of the project, its goals, objectives, and key initiatives implemented in various regions of Ukraine, including Ternopil. He emphasized that the project aims to create a knowledge network between coaches, teachers, and students, as well as to introduce modern innovative approaches to the training process.


Liliana Hutsuliak, an administrative employee of a public organization and project participant, introduced students to the capabilities of the BASKETBALL-KTN platform, demonstrated its sections, and explained how to register and use the training materials that assist in the professional training of future specialists.
The meeting was held with the assistance of Andrii Ohynistyi, Associate Professor and Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, who actively participated in organizing the event and supported the initiative to conduct training for students of the faculty.
The event was also attended by Head of Department Volodymyr Naumchuk, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Roman Vlasyuk.
Their presence emphasized the importance of combining academic education and practical experience in training future physical education specialists, as well as supporting modern educational initiatives aimed at developing student youth.


Students, mainly first-year students, joined the event with interest and evaluated it as a new experience of informal learning directly related to their future professional activities.


Participants received certificates for 4 academic hours (0.13 ECTS credits), which can be counted as informal education while studying the discipline “Basketball”.
