Athletics master class “WE ARE UKRAINIANS”

The purpose of the master class was to get acquainted with the Olympic sport of athletics, increase physical activity among children, relieve stress and tension, improve the general physical condition, moral education of children, and instill national patriotic values in them.
The master class was held as part of the scientific project “Innovative model of implementation and formation of children’s patriotism by means of Olympic education” with the support of the Association of Graduates of the Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University.

The master class was initiated by candidate of sciences in physical education and sports, associate professor Yaroslav Galan, who noted that physical activity currently serves as an important element for overcoming health-related problems, since a sedentary lifestyle and constant sitting have a negative impact on the child’s body. That is why such activities bring positive changes, strengthen children’s health and encourage them to engage in sports regularly.

The master class was attended by Alla Angelska, head of the research department, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences; chief accountant of the Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University Yuriy Romaniv; Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Human Health of the Yuri Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Yaroslav Zorii; Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Basics of Health, Chairman of the Association of Alumni of the Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University, Professor Yuriy Moseychuk; candidate of sciences in physical education and sports, associate professor, master of sports in rhythmic gymnastics Olena Moroz. Emil Ibragimov, a graduate of the Chernivtsi National University named after Yuriy Fedkovich, member of the Ukrainian national team, master of sports in athletics, was also the guest of honor at this event. In addition, the master class was attended by candidate of psychological sciences, associate professor of the department of practical psychology, Tetyana Kanivets; candidate of psychological sciences, assistant professor of the department of practical psychology, faculty of pedagogy, psychology and social work Galina Fesun; coordinator of the children’s space “Caritas for children” of the charity organization, the charity foundation “Caritas Chernivtsi” Ivanna Nagirnyak; teacher of Chernivtsi Secondary School No. 33, teacher of the highest category, senior teacher Viktor Slobodian. Students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Human Health and the Faculty of Pedagogy, Psychology and Social Work of the Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University also joined the master class, who had the opportunity to feel like teachers and trainers, and to pass on their knowledge and skills to the children. Emil Ibragimov told the participants about athletics, introduced them to the main sports.

During the master class, there was a moment of silence for the fallen compatriots. The National Anthem of Ukraine was also played, performed by an associate professor of the Department of Music, a member of the All-Ukrainian Music Union, Heorhiy Postevka.

During the event, demonstrative performances were held for the participants of the master class presented by the student of the specialty “Physical culture and sport”, the master of sports in artistic gymnastics Taisia Vyshivan and the student of the 1st year of the specialty “Secondary education. Physical culture” from cheerleading.

Under the guidance of master of sports in rhythmic gymnastics Olena Moroz, the children had the opportunity to participate in the Olympic movement, thereby immersing themselves in a real Olympic atmosphere. Also, trainings with elements of athletics were held for them, during which each participant was able to show all their sports capabilities and achievements.
At the end of the master class, Georgy Postevka performed the song “We are the champions”, which became a symbol of the fact that all participants are winners. During its performance, the children were awarded medals and received souvenirs.
