Future basketball stars: master class as part of the Erasmus+ Sport / Basketball-KTN project
On April 24, 2025, a basketball master class was held for young basketball players of the “Bukovinian stars” basketball club as part of the European Union’s Erasmus+ Sport project / Delivering a hybrid knowledge transfer network model for basketball engagement and development.
The event was organized by the public organization YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE, which is a participant in the project.
The purpose of the event was to introduce young basketball players to innovative approaches to professional training and the use of digital technologies in basketball.
The event began with an opening ceremony attended by the head of the public organization, candidate of physical education and sports sciences, associate professor Yaroslav Galan, member of the organization’s board, candidate of physical culture and sports sciences, associate professor Svitlana Duditska, basketball club coach Vyacheslav Gavlyuk, physical education teacher Alina Shchitka, student basketball players, and other project participants.
This was followed by a warm-up with basketballs, and then relay races with basketball elements led by Vyacheslav Gavlyuk.
Yaroslav Galan noted that modern approaches to the training process in basketball are extremely important, as the use of the latest technologies opens up opportunities for the development of both coaches and future specialists, and it is the experience of European partners, which is actively passed on to students, that is crucial in today’s conditions.
During the event, certificates were awarded to participants – student basketball players who took part in training sessions organized by European partners within the project over a month and a half.
The “Basketball Knowledge Transfer Network”, created as part of the project, was also presented, where participants can register for further training.
All participants received commemorative medals with the project logo and gifts.
The importance of the event lies in supporting young people, promoting sports, in particular basketball, and contributing to increasing physical activity among children in today’s world.
