BASKETBALL-KTN Final International Event: Strengthening Youth Basketball through Knowledge Transfer
The participation of Ukrainian partners in the final international event on December 5-7 in Thessaloniki (Greece) as part of the BASKETBALL-KTN project demonstrated the importance of international cooperation, knowledge transfer, and sustainable development of youth basketball. Such events contribute to the establishment of professional networks, the exchange of best practices, and the promotion of basketball among children and young people as a tool for education, inclusion, and the formation of European values.

Yaroslav Galan, PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor, Head of the public organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, emphasized in his speech the strategic importance of the project for the development of cooperation between the spheres of sports, education, and civil society. He stressed that the implementation of the BASKETBALL-KTN project opens up new opportunities for the development and promotion of basketball among children and young people in Ukraine.

The report from the Ukrainian partner was presented by Liliana Hutsulyak on the topic “CONNECTING PEOPLE AND PRACTICE: THE STORY OF THE BASKETBALL-KTN COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE.”

The presentation highlighted the main activities implemented in Ukraine within the project, including work with target groups, training and communication activities, and the formation of communities of practice as an effective tool for the sustainable development of youth basketball.
The implementation of the BASKETBALL-KTN project, co-financed by the European Union, has made it possible to create an effective platform for international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the introduction of modern approaches to the development of youth basketball. The main goal of the project is to ensure equal opportunities by bringing together small “clusters” of clubs and sister academies for the systematic exchange of experience and best practices.

This contributes to the formation of “communities of practice” in basketball, which bring together clubs and organizations from different countries at the pan-European level and ensure the sustainable development of basketball for children and young people.
