Ecological tree planting event with children from different regions of Ukraine

On April 13, to the International Day of Sports for the Benefit of Peace and Development and the All-Ukrainian Environment Day, an ecological tree-planting event was held at the preschool education institution No. 35 “Vesnyanka” of the Chernivtsi City Council.

The event was held on the initiative of the public organization YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTH MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE, assistance of the Department of Education of the Chernivtsi City Council and the institution’s administration.

The purpose of the environmental event is to commemorate the International Day of Sports for the Benefit of Peace and Development and the All-Ukrainian Day of the Environment, to instill the principles of a healthy lifestyle and physical activity, to form ecological awareness and a respectful attitude to the environment, to green the territories and improve the state of the environment.

Honorary guests and organizers were present at the charity event: Head of the Department of Education of the Chernivtsi City Council, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Iryna Tkachuk; master of sports of Ukraine of international class, European karate champion 2023 Andriy Zaplitny; master of sports in athletics, champion and prize-winner of Ukrainian championships, Ukrainian record holder Emil Ibragimov; director of preschool education institution No. 35 “Vesnyanka” Inna Kotsyuban; member of the board, candidate of sciences in physical education and sports, associate professor Svitlana Duditska; head of the public organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, candidate of sciences in physical education and sports, associate professor Yaroslav Galan, young volunteer leaders from among students of the Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University and young scientists of the region.

The event began with a nationwide moment of silence for all fallen compatriots and the playing of the National Anthem of Ukraine.

Yaroslav Galan spoke about the importance of a respectful attitude towards the environment, noted that the environment should be protected and valued, and holding such events contributes to the easier and more effective integration of such children into the new team, motivates to an active and healthy lifestyle, and sports and physical activity in in turn, help improve the psychological and physical health of children. He also presented the gratitude of the public organization to the Department of Education of Chernivtsi City Council for support in popularizing a healthy lifestyle, physical activity, formation of national values, education of a healthy generation with harmonious development of physical and spiritual qualities of children from different regions of Ukraine.

Andriy Zaplitny and Emil Ibragimov talked about their life path to sports and higher achievements, and together with preschoolers they planted trees, drawing attention to the importance of this process in modern conditions by their own example.

Iryna Tkachuk emphasized the expediency of forming an ecological culture of children and popularizing physical activity and various sports from childhood.

And then there was the planting of the symbolic “ALLEY OF PEACE” together with children from different regions of Ukraine, parents, scientists, young volunteer leaders, athletes of the city and the region.

All preschoolers received commemorative medals commemorating the environmental event.
