Charity event with elements of volleyball for children from different regions of Ukraine

On September 21, 2022, a charity event with elements of volleyball for children from different regions of Ukraine took place on the basis of the Petrovets Lyceum.

The event is timed to the International Day of Peace, initiated by the UN General Assembly, which is celebrated annually on September 21.

Before the start of the event, the opening of the Children’s Youth Sports School of the Petrovets Rural Territorial Community took place, which began with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

The charity event was held on the initiative of the public organization MOLOD. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE, Petrovetska rural territorial community of Chernivtsi district of Chernivtsi region, Volleyball Federation of Chernivtsi region and Football Association of Chernivtsi region.

The event was held with the support of the Olympic Academy of Ukraine, which is celebrating its 31st anniversary this year.

The purpose of the charity event is to introduce the basics of volleyball, increase physical activity among children, improve their general physical condition, and spread patriotic values, which consist in raising conscious young Ukrainians.

The charity event was attended by the head of the Petrovetska United Territorial Community, Ivan Hryzhynku, the head of the public organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, head of the scientific project “Innovative model of implementation and formation of children’s patriotism by means of Olympic education”, candidate of sciences in physical education and sports, associate professor Yaroslav Galan, head of the Volleyball Federation of Chernivtsi region, candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor Ivan Vaskan and other honored guests .

During the solemn opening ceremony, a moment of silence was observed for all the dead. The National Anthem of Ukraine was also played.

A student of ChNNU named after Yu. Fedkovych, Master of Sports in rhythmic gymnastics Taisiya Vyshivan conducted an exercise with elements of volleyball for the participants. During the exercise, schoolchildren had the opportunity to perform various movements with elements of this sport.

A demonstration performance for all present was presented by the dance team of the Petrovets community “Mugurel” with the dance “Merry Girls”.

Yaroslav Galan told the participants of the event about the importance of physical culture and sports, physical activity, their positive impact on health and life in general in modern conditions, the promotion of nationwide patriotic values, noted that the International Day of Peace is extremely important, and also thanked Petrovetska united territorial community.

Ivan Vaskan introduced the participants to the history of volleyball, explained the basic concepts of this sport, described the main volleyball techniques, which the schoolchildren had the opportunity to repeat and master.
