A charity basketball event for children from different regions of Ukraine

On December 14, a charity basketball event for children from different regions of Ukraine took place on the basis of Chernivtsi Lyceum No. 20 of the Chernivtsi City Council.

The charity event was held at the initiative of the public organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTH MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE” and the assistance of the Department of Education of the Chernivtsi City Council and the administration of the lyceum.

The purpose of the charitable event is to familiarize with basketball, popularize the principles of a healthy lifestyle, physical activity, moral education of children, formation of national and patriotic values.

The head of the public organization  addressed the participants with a welcome speech YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE, candidate of sciences in physical education and sports, associate professor, head of the scientific project “Innovative model of implementation and formation of children’s patriotism by means of Olympic education” Yaroslav Galan, who emphasized the importance of holding such events for children in order to support their physical and psychological health I noted that motor activity is the basis of a healthy lifestyle and harmonious development.

Physical education teacher Vyacheslav Havlyuk and Chernivtsi Lyceum No. 20 of the Chernivtsi City Council were awarded thanks from the public organization for their support in promoting a healthy lifestyle and physical activity among schoolchildren.

Viktor Tomyak, director of Chernivtsi Lyceum No. 20, addressed the participants of the event with a welcome speech, who noted the importance of physical activity, a healthy lifestyle, and sports for modern schoolchildren and focused on the significant impact of sports on the patriotic upbringing of the younger generation.

Among the famous basketball players present at the charity event were students and graduates of the Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University Serhiy Opolskyi, Taisia Karcha, Oleksandr Onyshchuk and female students majoring in “physical culture and sports”.

At the beginning of the event, an exercise was held for schoolchildren with elements of basketball and the participants were introduced to this sport. Then there were relay races with elements of basketball, which were conducted by physical education teacher Vyacheslav Havlyuk together with students and graduates.

Also during the event, a master class was held on the rules of performing basketball techniques and techniques, which was presented by graduates and athletes.

At the end of the event, all participants received commemorative medals commemorating their participation in the charity event.
