A charity event for the International Day of Sports for the benefit of peace and development for children from different regions of Ukraine

On April 5, a charity event for the International Day of Sports for the benefit of peace and development for children from different regions of Ukraine was held on the basis of the Godyliv institution of general secondary education of the I-III degrees of the Velikokuchuriv united territorial community of the Chernivtsi district of the Chernivtsi region.

The event was held on the initiative of the public organization YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE and the assistance of the Veliko Kuchuriv United Territorial Community of Chernivtsi Oblast and the administration of the educational institution.

The purpose of the charity event is to popularize a healthy and active lifestyle, motor activity as an important element of children’s life, formation of patriotism based on sports, instilling universal national values and social and psychological adaptation through sports and various activities.

Traditionally, the charity event began with the National Anthem of Ukraine and a moment of silence for the fallen compatriots.

The charity event was attended by honored guests and organizers: master of sports of Ukraine of the international class, European 2023 champion in karate Andriy Zaplitny; the director of the Godyliv institution of general secondary education of grades I-III of the Velikokuchuriv village council, Marta Golovryak; specialist of the department of education, culture, youth and sports of the Velikokuchuriv village council, Yuliya Yeremitsa; candidate of sciences in physical education and sports, associate professor, head of the public organization “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE” Yaroslav Galan.

Yaroslav Galan spoke about the need of migrant children to adapt to new living conditions in communities, noted that holding such events facilitates easier and more effective integration of such children into a new team, motivates them to an active and healthy lifestyle, and sports and physical activity in their in turn help to improve the psychological and physical health of children.

Andriy Zaplitnyi told the participants of the event about his own sports experience, career growth, various aspects of his professional path, and also explained the basic concepts of karate as a sport, described important techniques that beginner karatekas need to know.

A demonstration performance in artistic gymnastics was presented by Valentyna Myslyva, a student of the “Physical Culture and Sport” specialty, master of sports in artistic gymnastics, champion of Ukraine.

A show number with elements of basketball was presented by students of the specialty “Secondary education. Physical culture” Taisia Karcha and Kateryna Matenko.

The participants of the event had the opportunity to participate in exercises with elements of yoga on fitness mats, which were conducted by a student of the “Physical Culture and Sport” specialty, master of sports in artistic gymnastics Khrystyna Kolisnyk. During these exercises, the children got acquainted with the basic concepts of yoga, mastered certain positions and were charged with positive energy.

Andriy Zaplitny held a master class in karate, during which he showed the main techniques of this sport, presented the technical rules for their performance, and every participant joined this process.

Later, the children took part in relay races with elements of various sports, where they were able to compete for speed, dexterity, endurance, and feel the team spirit and emotions from the competition.

All participants of the event received commemorative medals, pens and certificates from the public organization.

The event was held with the support of Ciabatta confectionery, videographer Artur Gulpak, Internet provider Intelekt, law firm Kutsak and Partners.

The event was held within the framework of the project “Social and psychological adaptation of forcibly displaced persons (children) to the educational process”, carried out by the Carpathian Foundation with the financial support of COFRA.
