“Olympic alphabet” as a method of teaching children by means of Olympic education

As you know, any learning begins with the study of the main basic elements. Thus, the educational process of children begins with mastering the alphabet of their native language for further successful learning. Learning the Ukrainian alphabet is one of the main and mandatory indicators of a patriotically conscious personality. We offer an innovative version of the Ukrainian alphabet called the “Olympic Alphabet”, which will enable the young generation to learn the Ukrainian language more easily and quickly, in addition to getting acquainted with various types of sports, to form certain national civic values ​​from a young age, which, perhaps, in the future will enable children to choose their favorite sport and achieve good results in it for the benefit of the state.

The “Olympic alphabet” is made in a patriotic style with observance of national symbols, in particular Ukrainian blue and yellow paraphernalia (flags, appropriate clothing).

The alphabet consists of 33 letters of the Ukrainian alphabet. Each uppercase letter has its lowercase counterpart, thanks to which children will learn to recognize and distinguish between them in writing. Letters are divided into vowels and consonants, respectively, yellow-hot color indicates vowel letters, and dark blue – consonants. This demarcation will enable children to more easily master and understand the specifics of such a phonetic division in the Ukrainian language. At the bottom, under the letters, there are words that begin with the corresponding letter or words that contain one or more such letters. In addition, the alphabet contains images that correspond to a certain letter and the word below it. This allows children to remember the alphabet more easily and quickly by making certain associations with sports and their corresponding images. Also, along the entire alphabet, there are other drawings that demonstrate various types of Olympic sports, which in turn forms Ukrainian patriotic self-awareness from an early age through the prism of innovative forms of Olympic education.

Bright drawings stimulate children to more productive study and study of the Ukrainian language, and also help to form patriotic values and qualities thanks to the forms of Olympic education, physical culture and sports.

In our opinion, the introduction and development of this kind of innovative forms of Olympic education, namely the “Olympic Alphabet”, is an important factor in the process of patriotic education, it is an effective means of educating the growing generation, which can be implemented by the method of forming an active civic position of modern youth, which as a result will ensure the spiritual unity of the people with their traditions, as well as stimulate basic patriotic and humane values.

Therefore, patriotic education through the prism of innovative forms of Olympic education, physical culture and sports makes it possible to realize personal identification with one’s nation, to realize national and cultural values. Innovative forms of Olympic education are one of the most effective elements of patriotic education of the young modern generation, because it provides not only physical development, but also comprehensive education of their moral and strong-willed national qualities. They are the means of reviving national culture, stimulate the development of universal human values, high patriotic consciousness, love for one’s Motherland, valuable attitude towards the Ukrainian people, the state and the nation in general.
